Red Cross EU Office Annual Report 2022

As the world continued to grapple with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the effects of the Russia-Ukraine international armed conflict significantly shaped the work of the Red Cross at EU level throughout 2022 and beyond. National Red Cross Societies and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) have been working on the response, based on our fundamental principles of neutrality, impartiality and independence. This annual report represents some examples of how, together with our members, we have stepped up our collaboration with the EU institutions in the areas of social inclusion, migration and asylum, humanitarian aid, civil protection and development cooperation.

In line with the Red Cross EU Strategy 2022-2027, it showcases how we engaged with EU actors in 2022 on a wide range of topics, including long-term care, climate change, disaster risk management, the EU’s annual budget and the Pact on Migration and Asylum.

We hope you enjoy the read.
