Red Cross EU Office Annual Report 2023

Guided by the Red Cross EU Strategy 2022-2027, in 2023 we continued to work with our members to engage with the EU to safeguard and respond to people’s needs in the face of new and evolving crises. 2023 represented an important milestone for the Red Cross EU Office, as we celebrated our 40th anniversary. It was a chance to look back at key achievements and reflect on how our work with members has evolved over the years.

This annual report represents some examples of how, together with our members, we have stepped up our collaboration with the EU institutions in the areas of social inclusion, migration and asylum, humanitarian aid, civil protection and development cooperation. It showcases how we engaged with EU actors in 2023 on a wide range of topics, such as health at EU level, localisation, energy poverty, Multiannual Financial Framework, private hosting, and the Asylum and Migration Pact.
